Modern beachside apartment in Cronulla
Our clients had just purchased this impressive apartment after downsizing from a large family home. After selling all of the furniture that they had accumulated over the years, they hired us to create a completely new interior from scratch. The brief was for a modern, coastal and uncluttered space with bold, clean lines and contemporary finishes.
The view and alfresco area are a real drawcard of the property. The area was furnished simply with a solid stone table contrasted with the slimline iron chairs.
In the sitting room we mixed a bold, statement coffee table with strong lines with a softer, duck egg blue sofa to create the perfect balance between the modern and coastal elements.
We softened the entire look using a flatweave rug with a subtle pattern and accessorised with a pair of mirrors to add some timber accents in keeping with the timber floating shelves. A coastal colour palette of blues and white was used for the scatter cushions and accessories.
Continuing the bold black lines throughout the home we used strong but simple pieces of furniture and accessories in the living and dining area allowing the view to be the focus of this space. The contrasting rug helps define the living space in the open plan layout while also providing warmth and texture.
Contemporary coastal in Caringbah
This contemporary residence in Caringbah is home to a young family who wanted to embrace the coastal lifestyle of the area. With natural light flooding in through the floor to ceiling windows, we kept the space light and bright through the use of natural and white timber and linen.
The main focus was the living room which needed to be comfortable with plenty of seating for the family and entertaining in the open plan space connecting the kitchen and dining area. We kept the look of the furniture relaxed and semi-casual and kept the colour palette neutral and light adding warmth through natural timber accents.
We layered the look with textured accessories with hints of blue and soft greys in the scatter cushions and throws. We finished this look off with an understated rug which assisted in defining the living area from the dining space.
An inviting and peaceful space was the brief for the main bedroom. In keeping with the rest of the home, white timber bedside tables were featured with contrasting lamps and a relaxed denim-look fabric bedhead. The artwork continues the coastal and relaxed feel of the home.
